We live in an era where we can safely expect to live many years.  Exercise, practicing a sport and training has become a more important part of peoples lives.  We always hear the odd comment from someone who disagrees with the trend for fitness being incorporated into daily and weekly life.  ‘people still get ill’ or ‘fitness didn’t help them’. 

 

The naysayers don't really take into account that people who are fitter and healthier generally heal and recover from an , more speedily and efficiently than their unfit counterpart.  Being fit and strong is not a cast iron guarantee that illness will evade you in the same way that eating a perfect diet, never touching alcohol, illness, smoking keeping out of the sun and avoiding smartphones, also offers no guarantees.  But what is certain, fitter people have more energy, are happier, have fewer injuries and take fewer medications….
